Basically the story goes that Yuki was attacked by sorrow (

). Yuki, after an epic battle ended up getting stabbed by sorrow's blood blades. Ed came just as Yuki was getting stabbed. So ed decided to try to save Yuki and take her to a hospital, however his efforts were in vain, because Yuki ended up dying in eds arms. Ed was devastated by this because he failed to save Yuki and ended up crying.
